Regular Training Schedule
Mondays: Winter Core Classes with Will
This Core Stability Training is run by PT Will Houghton and the cost is £3.50/session. It concentrates on developing core strength and general conditioning for running. Held in the Crosthwaite Parish Rooms (near the Co-op in Keswick), meeting at 6 for a 6.15 start, these are run in the winter only. The session lasts about 45 minutes, finishing at 7pm. Tuesdays & Thursdays: Main club-training sessions
These are the two main weekly club training sessions and cover a variety of road, off-road and hill workouts. Sessions endeavour to cater for all levels of ability. There is always a set session (see schedule below), though this may vary in severe weather, and small groups are welcome to offer a separate activity if they wish. High-vis clothing and head-torch are essential in winter. We meet at the Fitz Park pavilion at 6 for a prompt 6.15 start.

Wednesdays: Ladies Social Runs
This is an informal, mixed ability group aiming to encourage and support women’s running in a comfortable and social setting. Their activities and further information are on their Facebook page or contact firstname.lastname@example.org Meet in the stone shelter behind the cenotaph every Wednesday for a 6.30 start. The session lasts about an hour and can be on trail or road. Minimum ability we suggest you are able run 5km in about 30mins, and can run up to 10k (though we stop – a lot!!).

The sessions have been planned by Club member Dave Troman of Love To Run Coaching and work on the principle of periodisation. To understand how the training sessions in the current block fit into the greater scheme of the season, have a read of the overview and training philosophy HERE.
Tue 9th July
Up, down, up reps on Rakefoot, Walla Crag and Bleaberry Fell.
Warm up to end of Springs Road with some surges.
Each rep is 4 min up, 1 min down and 2 min up. Total of 7 mins per rep. 3 mins recovery between reps where athletes regroup. Repeat 4 times.
Road running option
Speed endurance. 3, 4, 5, 6, 5, 4, 3 min reps with 2 mins recovery each time.
Full road loop round town.
10 mins easy run for warm up, add a few dynamic stretches.
Regroup after each rep.
Tue 16 July
Catbells parlouf organised by Steve Harwood.
Meet above the Catbells cattle grid, at the junction to the Skelgill road, in time for a 6.15 start.
Tue 23 July
Joint Keswick AC and Ambleside AC training run. Meet Dunmail Raise, 6:30pm. At least two groups, one 60-90 mins at a very easy pace, no one left behind. And longer group maybe around 2 hours at a bit of a speedier pace, re-grouping at gates, summits, etc.
Tue 30 July
Blease Fell dash (or crawl!) organised by Lesley. Meet at the car park behind the Blencathra Centre for a 6.15 start. Run, bike or carshare from Keswick.
