Former British Fellrunning Champion Finlay Wild produced a breathtaking display of running at the Latrigg fell race on Wednesday night, setting one of the fastest times in recent years. The Scot, who runs for Lochaber AC and is currently on holiday in Keswick, visited the Latrigg summit and returned to Fitz Park in just 17 minutes 38 seconds. He took home a mini cask of ‘Keswick Gold’ from Keswick Brewery and vouchers for KONG Adventure for his efforts.
Finlay was followed home by Keswick AC runners Carl Bell (18:15), who squeaked past Steve Hebblethwaite (18:19) not far from the finish line.
In the ladies race, local favourite Cat Spurden continued her excellent recent form by retaining her title. She produced a time 14 seconds quicker than last year, completing the course in 21 minutes 39 seconds. She was followed home by Emma Holt (Morpeth) and Connie Hurton (Eden).
There is some stunning video footage from the race which can be found on Facebook by clicking here.
