Keswick lady vets are rising to the challenge and putting a vets team around as a relay on the 29th September. If we can get enough interest we will also put an open ladies team round on the same day.
So the team is-
Leg 1 Annabel Holmes & Dilys Riley
Leg 2 Lyn Thompson & Julie Carter
Leg 3 Sara Hodgson & Helen Winskill
Leg 4 Trudy Beetham & Kerry Cornforth
Leg 5 Jo Gillyon and Sam Ayers
Team is all confirmed. Start time 8am Saturday 29th September from the doors of George Fisher. Any support or cheering welcome!
The Abraham’s Tea Round is a 30 mile 12,000 feet of ascent loop starting and finishing at the front doors of George Fisher. It takes in all the fell tops you can see from the cafe on the top floor. If you successfully complete ‘The Round’ or the ‘ATR’ and have a gps track to show… you get a Golden Tea Cup, a voucher for well earned refreshments in the cafe, photo opportunity, social media glory, your name on the leader board and a chance to write your name in the book of fame! There is even a Facebook group you can join called… wait for it, ‘The Abraham’s Tea Round‘!
The records set currently are:
Team Relay – 7 hours 39 minutes – this is the record to beat set by Northern Fells Running Club
Solo Female – 8 hours 51 minutes for Catherine Spurden (KAC)
Solo Male – 6 hours 46 minutes for Nic Ward (NFRC)
The course and details of the legs, where the changeovers will happen and how the NFRC did it can be found here on the George Fisher website.
