Saturday saw the first of the classic middle distance lakes races take place. The route was wet but weather conditions on the day were great for running. Nearly 400 took to the start line and the race gets more popular every year. It was a Keswick AC Championship race so there were a lot of green and yellow vests on the start line. Keswick’s Carl Bell won the race with Rob Jebb, of Helm Hill Runners in Kendal, finishing second. In the ladies race it was Emma Clayton that came out on top. The stand out performance on the day went to Keswick’s Simon Netherway who is improving all the time.
