Two Keswick AC runners have been selected to represent their country in the World Trail Running Championships.  The race is being held in Portugal and is run over a hilly 28 mile course on a variety of terrain. Katie Kaars Sijpesteijn, who joined Keswick AC last year, has represented Great Britain in this event before but over a longer course, but she is well up for the challenge in June. Katie has shown to be one of the best ultra runners in the country over the past few years and with impressive Ultra race wins last year,  she guaranteed her selection for 2019. Only six men and six women are selected to run for Great Britain across the whole country yet Keswick AC will also have a representative in the men’s race.  Carl Bell earned his place in the team after winning all the medium and long fell races in the English Championships last year. This will be the first time Carl has run for his country and he’s looking forward to pulling on the British vest. The last two years have been a bit of a whirlwind for Carl after winning the British Fell Running championship title in 2017 and then the English Fell Running Championship in 2018.
