Notes:
Competitors must be equipped with the following kit, which is mandatory under FRA requirements:
• Waterproof whole body cover (with taped seams and attached hood)
• Other body cover e.g. thermal vest
• Hat and gloves
• Compass
• Whistle
• Map of the route and surrounding area
• Emergency food
There is a full kit check for all competitors at the start of the race.
Race
Details:
A new KAC race raising funds to help towards the restoration of Thornthwaite Church, involving fast running over forest tracks and grassy ridges (plus a steep grassy descent) suitable for both fell and experienced trail runners.
The Thornthwaite Round 15.6km/870m over forest tracks/paths (flagged), and open fell starting and finishing at St Mary’s Church, Thornthwaite, and taking in the checkpoints of Lord’s Seat, Broom Fell, Brown How, Whinlatter and Seat How.
The route through the forest is marked and must be followed, bearing in mind that other users could also be on the route.
