Virgin London Marathon
We now have officially been allocated two places in the London Marathon. I know a few did express interest earlier in conjunction with the Calvert Trust appeal. Please could anyone at all interested apply before Dec 1st to secretary@keswickac.org.uk.
Places which will be awarded according to the following criteria.
(a) have applied unsuccessfully by direct ballot, (b) haven’t had a club entry before and (c) have made a significant contribution to the running of the club (e.g marshalling at races) (d) any other relevant supporting information.
Please note if you don’t meet all the criteria don’t be afraid to apply as it’s not often that both places are filled by those who meet all the criteria.
Dates for December
I will send these out after the next committee meeting which is on Dec 4th when we have decided on Christmas/New Year running. Anyone who has ideas for the festive period or is happy to organise an event, just let me know before the 4th. Thanks in anticipation!!!
Do note Vic’s mad downhill Barrow race on Dec 8th though.
Sped’s Three Peaks

I’m a freelance journalist (co-founder & former editor of Trail Running magazine) making a film for Ellis Brigham Mountain Sports called “How to start trail running”. I’m looking for about 6-8 people of different shapes, sizes, ages and ethic backgrounds to feature in our whole day shoot in the Keswick area, Sun 9 Dec. Cake provided, and hopefully a bit of free running kit. The aim is to make it as friendly and inclusive as possible, just like the ethos of parkrun. We’d like to get lots of shots of happy runners in a group, and also interview them about their journey into trail running, and how it’s better than road running.
