29th May 2018Rachel
Thank you,
To Cat Evans and her impressive team for the Hellvellyn race on Sunday.  So many helpful people making the day a really good one for all involved!  Thank you to our many members plus a few extras who volunteered to help.  For those of us running, it was memorable day particularly the result with the first five vests home being green and gold:  Carl, Mark, James, Hannah and John!  The ladies also took the team prize with some very good all round performances and battling a tricky side wind nearly all the way.
Also thank you to everyone who has helped us run so many successful races in a very short space of time, it is really appreciated by the committee and raises funds for local charities and to run the club.
For anyone who hasn’t done their stint of marshalling yet this year and for those who just like doing it, here are the rest of our races:
Hellvellyn 10k.  This will not be held due to the state of the road.  We are looking for another 10k for the club road champs.
Skiddaw Sunday July 1st at 12.00.  Contact katy.octavia@gmail.com.
Not Round Latrigg Wednesday August 15th at 7.00 pm. Contact jecarter@doctors.org.uk
Barrow Monday August 27th at 2.00 pm.  Contact barfside@outlook.com.
Dale Head Sunday September 16th at 2.00 pm.  Contact cliveandsue101@btinternet.com.
Derwentwater 10  Sunday November 4th at 12 noon.  Contact phil.winskill@gmail.com.
We are likely to be looking for more race organisers in the near future so please do think about whether this is something you could do to help the club.  Having organised a race myself this year, I think it is helpful to have a small team of 2 or 3 so that the task is not onerous and it gives flexibility about running in it yourself.
